5 Fall Events You Won’t Want to Miss 

 

 

 

Fall is coming, which means fall events! Check out these 5 fall events happening in the city that can’t be missed.  

 

1. Admire the Morningside Lights

When: September 21

Where: Begins at Morningside Park and ends at Columbia University campus

 

Every fall, a procession takes place starting in Morningside Park that displays awe-inspiring lanterns. This year’s event, “In Retrospect: 100 Years of New York Art,” will feature lanterns depicting how NYC’s art has changed over the past century. This celebration of art and light will take place just after dusk on September 21st and will have over 50 community-made lanterns lighting up the night sky. 

 

2. The Food Network Food And Wine Festival 

When: October 17 - 20

Where: Invesco QQQ Campus at Brooklyn Army Terminal

 

The Food Network Food and Wine Festival is returning this year! Running from October 12th to 15th, the festival will host 80+ events with over 400 chefs, mixologists, and wine and spirit producers. Events will include The Betty BOOze Harvest Happy Hour hosted by Blake Lively, Asian Bites and Karaoke Nights hosted by Jet Tila, a Rainbow Cookie Croissant Masterclass, and much more. Make sure to grab your tickets before they’re gone!  

 

 

 

3. Village Halloween Parade 

When: October 31st at 7pm 

Where: Starts at Canal St. And 6th Ave 

 

Spooky season is coming and, with that, so are NYC’s Halloween traditions. Perhaps the most famous of all is the annual Village Halloween Parade, an iconic celebration that is guaranteed to be a good time. You can choose to be in the parade or watch from the sidelines and people march through Greenwich Village from 7-11pm. Either dress for this year's theme—”Meow”—or sport whatever costume you desire.   

 

4. The New York Botanical Garden’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas”

When: September 27 – November 30

Where: The NYBG

 

Celebrate spooky season the right way by visiting the NYBG’s worldwide debut of their new light trail inspired by Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Made of over 8,300 square feet of light installations, this exhibition will feature 3D printed sculptures of iconic characters and interactive video projections. Make sure to buy your tickets while you still can! 

 

5. New York Comedy Festival 

When: November 8 - 17 

Where: Various Venues 

 

Everybody loves to laugh, and there’s no place for comedy like New York City. Running from November 8th to the 17th, the New York Comedy Festival is back and ready to have you in stitches. The lineup features household comedy names like Judd Apatow, Bill Maher, and JB Smoove, as well as up-and-coming performers. Venues will include Madison Square Garden, Town Hall, and the Beacon Theatre. Get tickets before they’re all gone!
