Finding the perfect spot for a date night or after-work happy hour in Manhattan can be overwhelming, so we’ve crafted a list of the best bars in the Financial District and what they offer.
Best Espresso Martini: London & Martin Co.
6 Stone St, New York, NY 10004
Espresso Martinis are all the rage, and there are plenty of restaurants around the city that offer their version of the beloved drink, including FiDi’s very own London & Martin Co. Made with Absolut Vanilla vodka, fresh espresso, and dark simple syrup, London & Martin Co’s double espresso martini is sure to satisfy your craving and leave you wanting another one. Plus, the bar’s atmosphere and stacked menu is perfect for lunch, dinner, and even brunch. Not an espresso martini fan? Don’t worry, the extensive drink menu is sure to have something for everyone.
Best Rooftop: Overstory
70 Pine St, 64th Floor, New York, NY 10005
New York City’s weather isn’t always sunny, but the views are always stunning, so the ideal rooftop bar has both indoor and outdoor options. Located on the 64th floor with a wrap-around terrace, Overstory. has 360-degree views that are hard to beat, not to mention their wide range of drink options that span everything from artistic cocktails to beer and wine. Try their Pink Tuxedo, a stunning cocktail featuring flavors of cherry blossom and strawberry, or try their version of a classic, the Terroir Old Fashioned, made with Reposado Tequila, Palo Santo, and Tilden salt.
Best Beer selection: Clinton Hall
90 Washington St, New York, NY 10006
Taking inspiration from Clinton Castle, the site of America’s original Beer Garden in 1824, Clinton Hall opened their first location in FiDi back in 2013 and has now taken over the city with five locations. Their number one goal? To protect customers from consuming bad beer. With a huge communal outdoor area, Clinton Hall is great in any season, and with their enormous beer list, everyone will be pleased. Plus, you’ll never go hungry with their all-day menu featuring bar bites and craft burgers—Clinton Hall has it all.
Best Wine Bar: Zizi Wine Bar
45 John St, New York, NY 10038
Wine bars can be a hit or miss, depending on the atmosphere and of course, the wine list. At Zizi Wine Bar, your night out is sure to be a hit. A boutique wine bar and sister restaurant of ZIZI, this establishment offers delicious Mediterranean bites and an extensive list of reds, whites, and rosés from all over the world. Make sure to start with their hummus or falafel and follow it up with the perfect entree, such as their skirt steak or overnight lamb. Plus, check out their wine tasting classes on their Instagram page (@ziziwinebar).
Best Cocktail Bar: The Dead Rabbit
30 Water St, New York, NY 10004
Being the most awarded pub in the world can’t be easy, but The Dead Rabbit sure makes it seem that way. With their three-experience system—The Taproom, The Parlor, and the Occasional Room—you will never get bored. The Parlor is our favorite for some of the city's best cocktails, including the Blink Twice (their take on a Whiskey Sour with grapefruit and raspberry) or the Lock & Key Old Fashioned with toasted coconut. Looking for more of a pub vibe? Just switch over into The Taproom and you’ll find yourself immersed in New York’s favorite Irish Bar with delicious menu offerings like a Frozen Irish Coffee, or one of their 18 beers. Need a great tavern space for a party? Luckily, the Occasional Room is available for rent, offering food, drink, and experience packages to suit your party needs. Elevate your group event with their Paint by the Pints package, where you can recreate John Gilroy’s famous Toucan and sip on delicious drinks, or learn to properly pour a pint with the Master the Pour package.
