Whether you’re new to the area or just looking for a new brunch spot to spice up your weekend outings, we’re here to help you navigate your numerous brunch options in the financial district. Check out our list of our favorite spots for a variety of cuisines, including French, Australian, and Korean, among others. We’ve got a spot in mind for whatever you’re craving this weekend.
1. Hole in the wall
With 4 locations across Manhattan and Brooklyn, Hole in the Wall is a popular choice for brunchers in FiDi. It stays true to the Australian cafe vibe, with its minimal and bright furniture and amazing avo toast. Besides being open for an all-day brunch, the restaurant also offers Happy Hour from 3-5pm Monday through Friday.
The menu has plenty of options to satisfy both your savory and sweet tooth, including waffles with strawberry compote and whipped mascarpone, as well as the classic smoked salmon lox toast. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, try the pulled pork benedict, which features 12-hour slow braised pork and beet relish, sandwiched between sourdough.
2. Sunday in Brooklyn / The Seaport
Those who have visited Sunday in Brooklyn’s first location in Williamsburg will understand the true power that this place has over avid NYC brunchers. Named “The Absolute Best” by Grubstreet, it’s no surprise that the owners set up a second shop across the water in FiDi.
Although the restaurant is known best for American brunch done well, the menu gives a slight nod to other cuisines, such as Mediterranean and Korean, with its shakshuka and the gochujang aioli in its breakfast sandwich.
3. Le Gratin
Located in the Beekman Hotel in FiDi, Le Gratin is the latest brainchild of renowned French chef and restaurateur Daniel Boulud. The restaurant is said to have been inspired by his childhood hometown of Lyon, France, and has the brunch menu to show for it. Here, you’ll find plenty of Lyonnais specialities, from a French omelet with a Lyonnaise twist, with Tomme de Savoie and cremini mushrooms, to a Lyonnaise salad with chicken liver and crispy pork belly.
4. Inatteso Cafe
For those who are looking for a more low-key but still filling brunch, Inatteso Cafe offers the perfect option. Established in 2008, the cafe is open from 7:30am on both weekdays and weekends, and serves La Colombe coffee, as well as a variety of baked goods, pizzas, and breakfast sandwiches. If you’re going for more of a lunch vibe, the team also conveniently owns a sister restaurant just down the street - Inatesso Pizzabar.
5. Pearl Diner
I would be remiss not to include a diner on this list of brunch spots - cue Pearl Diner, which has been serving New Yorkers for more than 50 years. In typical diner fashion, the menu is extremely exhaustive and covers all of your favorite classic options, from grilled cheese sandwiches to belgian waffles. There are even over 40 types of burgers to choose from, so the world is truly your oyster at Pearl Diner.
6. SUITED
If you’re looking for the perfect blend of coffee-shop-meets-restaurant, look no further than SUITED. This restaurant offers the classic New York coffee shop staples, including cold brew and pastries, with the addition of brunch staples such as the Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwich. Of course, if you’re going for some healthier options, they’ve got you covered with avocado toast and various protein grain bowls.
7. Malibu Farm New York
Inspired by the owner’s Southern California roots, Malibu Farm New York is the quintessential West-Coast-tourist-favorite turned New York staple. This New York spot is the seventh location for the restaurant, and boasts tons of California health-conscious flair on its menu, with organic, grass-fed beef and an heirloom tomato harvest salad. If you’re vegan, there are plenty of options as well, from the cauliflower pizza to the impossible burger. Not to mention, the views of the Brooklyn Bridge are immaculate.
8. La Parisienne
For the Francophiles, this one’s for you - La Parisienne was started by a French couple who wanted to bring cozy French brunch vibes to lower Manhattan. Offering walk-in only dining, the restaurant offers classic French staples, such as the croque monsieur and madame, as well as more adventurous options, including the pate de champagne.
9. The Malt House
The Malt House is a lively FiDi brunch spot known for its rustic charm, craft beer selection, and hearty comfort food. The menu features indulgent favorites like brioche French toast, breakfast burgers, and the signature Malt House Benedict with crispy pork belly. Brunch-goers can enjoy bottomless mimosas or Bloody Marys in a warm, inviting atmosphere just steps from Wall Street. Whether you’re fueling up for a day downtown or winding down from the week, The Malt House delivers a satisfying and spirited brunch experience.
10. Harry's
Harry’s, a FiDi staple at 1 Hanover Square, offers a sophisticated yet welcoming brunch experience. Known for its classic steakhouse charm, the menu features indulgent favorites like eggs Benedict, fluffy pancakes, and signature steak and eggs. With expertly crafted cocktails and an upscale atmosphere, Harry’s is a top choice for a refined weekend brunch in the heart of downtown.
