Both sons of artists, Fazio and Wilson created SUITED to be an elevated café, modernly decorated, partnering with some of the greatest roasters in the world, to bring flavorful coffee just a 4-minute walk away from 8 Spruce. Their simple menu covers all the bases, from an Americano to a Flat White. In addition, their food menu features breakfast classics like their SUITED Pancakes, as well as lunch staples such as their Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich. You can grab a coffee to go or bring your laptop and grab a seat to get some work done. 

 

2. VOYAGER ESPRESSO 

110 William St, Lower Level, NY 10038 

 

Coffee may be a form of art but it’s also a science and Voyager Espresso seeks to honor that scientific craftsmanship with every cup they serve. After opening their doors in 2015, Voyager Espresso gained popularity for their delicious drinks, futuristic vibe and creative flair. Located only 4 minutes from 8 Spruce by foot, Voyager Espresso’s menu includes your classic coffees like a Latte and Cappuccino, as well as non-coffee drinks such as a Sparkling Lemonade and Arnold Palmer. Make sure to also check out their food menu for their wide selection of breakfast foods, sandwiches, and bagels. While there is seating, the vibe leans more towards to-go orders.  

 

 

3. CAFE GRUMPY

What started as an independently owned coffee shop in Greenpoint has now become an NYC favorite with eleven locations. Café Grumpy, located only a 14-minute walk from 8 Spruce, was created to be a welcoming environment for coffee lovers. Their menu includes a variety of teas and tea lattes, an entire espresso bar, and plenty of pastries to keep anyone satisfied. Not to mention, MR Porter included them on their list, “The Five Best Places In The World To Drink Coffee,” which says it all. Their wide variety of seating options makes it the perfect place to get work done while drinking your new favorite cup of coffee. 

 

4. BLACK FOX COFFEE

When Daniel Murphy and Gary Hardwick were finally fed up with their poor daily coffee options, they founded Black Fox Coffee with one goal in mind: to create a pleasant café experience for all. One of the few multi-roasters in New York City, Black Fox Coffee is located only 10 minutes from 8 Spruce by foot. Their menu includes hot and cold drink options with a small but stacked offering of pastries and breakfast items. Grab one of their many seats indoors or enjoy the weather in their chairs outdoors to either relax or be productive. 

 

5. BLUE SPOON COFFEE

Coffee can always be made better with a welcoming atmosphere, and at Blue Spoon Coffee, they pride themselves on having clean and cozy décor with friendly staff that are intent on making your experience as welcoming as possible. Blue Spoon Coffee has been caffeinating New York City since 2005 and is located only 4-minutes away from 8 Spruce by foot. Their extensive menu includes the classics, their House Blend Drip Coffee, as well as a large menu of iced drinks. In addition, their large food menu includes all of the breakfast essentials, along with sandwiches, salads, and plenty of dessert options. This spot is on the smaller side, so be prepared to take your order to-go.
