Furniture Stores Near FiDi

The Financial District and its surrounding area are home to a number of stores and showrooms featuring high-quality furniture pieces and home goods. You’ll find vintage gems and modern designs to fit every style. Whether you’re starting from scratch, or you're just looking to refresh a few pieces, check out these spots.

1. Hudson Furniture

Hudson Furniture began as a furniture concept gallery in the Meatpacking District back in 2004. Today, it brings that same hand-made, artisan touch to its commercial offerings. Desks with stylised horse legs and jagged, gothic armoires are among their more unique pieces. Coffee tables that maintain the live edge of the wood and sleek brown and gold dining chairs will fit seamlessly into any space. In fact, many of their pieces can be customized and made to order according to your preferred size and style. You can check out their pieces online before visiting them in person at their Broad Street showroom near the Battery.

2. Form Atelier

Form Atelier’s Tribeca store offers vintage furniture and lighting with a rustic-minimalist style. Owners Quy Nguyen and Avril Nolan source pieces from around the world with a view to emphasize the connection between art and furniture. Most pieces are sourced from the second half of the 20th century and while some look like they could have been designed today, others have a distinctive 60’s or 70’s style. With a focus on simple shades of black, white and brown, it’s easy to find pieces that will fit with the rest of your décor. They’re open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm (with a 5 pm closing on Saturdays) and you can make appointments for out-of-hours visits.

4. Christopher Cawley Antiques

For one-of-a-kind pieces, visit Christopher Cawley’s antique gallery on the second floor of the mini-mall at 75 East Broadway in Chinatown. 18th-century blankets, 17th-century French tapestries, and 19th-century porcelain jars from China are just a few examples of the pieces that find their way through this cozy antique store. It's open between 12 pm and 6 pm, Friday through Sunday, or by appointment. If it's got you in the mood for vintage pieces, the mini-mall is also home to The Reliquary, which sells vintage and antique jewelry and James Veloria which sells vintage clothes.

5. Montauk Sofa

Every Montauk Sofa is made with care and precision at their Montreal factory. Soft down feather and memory foam work in tandem to make some of the most comfortable couch cushions you’ll ever sit on. You can get the upholstery customized in leather or fabric to keep your new sofa aligned with the rest of your furniture. At their Lower Manhattan store on Lispenard Street, you’ll find their customer service is second-to-none, with friendly, knowledgeable staff on hand to advise you.
