After a year-long hiatus for renovations, New York City’s beloved Free Shakespeare in the Park returns in 2025 with a dazzling production of Twelfth Night. Staged at the newly revitalized Delacorte Theater in Central Park, this season promises a blend of classic Shakespearean comedy and contemporary star power, making it a must-see event for theater enthusiasts and casual fans alike.
This year’s production features an impressive ensemble of acclaimed actors including Lupita Nyong’o, Sandra Oh, Peter Dinklage, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, just to name a few. Directed by Tony Award nominee and The Public Theater’s Associate Artistic Director, Saheem Ali, this marks the seventh staging of Twelfth Night in the history of Shakespeare in the Park.
The Delacorte Theater, home to Shakespeare in the Park since 1962, has undergone significant renovations to enhance accessibility, sustainability, and overall audience experience. The upgrades include improved seating, modernized facilities, and state-of-the-art lighting, ensuring that the theater continues to be a premier venue for open-air performances.
