Unplug and Unwind at These 5 High-End NYC Spas

New York City happens to be the home to some of the country’s finest spas and wellness centers, which each offer specialized treatments and high-end facilities that will suit anyone and everyone. We know you’re busy, so we’ve compiled a list of five of these top spas that we think could be the perfect fit.

QC NY SPA

Governors Island is one of NYC’s favorite hosts. If they’re not hosting their annual Jazz Age Lawn party, or Governors Ball, then they’re hosting a different event. Luckily for us, that includes the QC NYC Spa. Unveiled last spring after years of planning, the QC NY Spa has two infinity pools and is only a ferry ride away from lower Manhattan. The day spa offers guests a retreat replete with saunas, steam rooms, and a bar serving wine and well-crafted apertivos to enjoy while taking in the sunset view of the city.

THE WELL NEW YORK

Formerly a members-only club, THE WELL is now open to all, while still maintaining its high-end cachet by embracing inclusivity. The expansive Union Square wellness center brings together both Eastern and Western wellness philosophies, a marriage evident in its multitude of services and spaces, which include a full medical practice, yoga and meditation studios, vibrational energy healing, IV vitamin drip therapy, health coaching, and a cold plunge pool. Visitors could very well spend an entire day at THE WELL, which also has its own organic restaurant on-site.

AIRE ANCIENT BATHS NEW YORK

AIRE Ancient Baths is your Tribeca destination for luxury and relaxation. The New York location of a high-end chain that started in Spain – it also has Baths in Chicago, as well as several European cities including London and Copenhagen – AIRE Ancient Baths New York invites modern wellness seekers to bathe like ancient Romans. AIRE boasts six thermal baths and a variety of saltwater pools and other nooks built for moments of Zen. Guests can spend the entirety of their visit bathing or indulge in a number of spa treatments and massages.

REMEDY PLACE

Dedicated to the concept of “social self-care,” Remedy Place is essentially an ultra-luxe club for likeminded wellness junkies. Part holistic, toxin-free spa, half social club, Remedy Place eschews standard spa fare like massages in favor of specialized treatments that include an infrared light sauna, cryo chambers, vitamin IV suites, and cupping rooms. The social aspect comes into play with a buffet of group classes and experiences, such as a group ice bath complete with instructor led breath work.

SHIBUI SPA

Those in search of balance – both inner and outer – should head to The Greenwich Hotel’s Shibui Spa, as it’s entirely dedicated to helping their guests achieve it. Reportedly a favorite of GOOP founder Gwyneth Paltrow, Shibui is all about serenity, as is evident in its carefully appointed décor and variety of treatments rooted in ancient Japanese practices. Try their signature massage, the Omakase, which is a treatment specially selected for each recipient, using a variety of plant-based products.
