Policy Statement

The property management company should identify and publicize an emergency gathering location that meets occupant needs and provides physical safe shelter in an event of a building evacuation. Such emergency gathering point should prevent the risk of injuries, while maintaining a clear and secure destination.

According to 8 Spruce Emergency Preparedness Plan, the following onsite and/or offsite locations are required to be the gathering point(s) when building evacuation is initiated. West Plaza, William Street Plaza, and City Hall Park can accommodate all occupants. If more space is needed, occupants can use IS 131 as an additional safe shelter.

Occupants may exit the building from the ground level. All exits on the ground level are less than 0.1-mile walking distance away from the identified gathering points except IS 131.

Exits include:

      • Main Building Entrance (33 ft away from West Plaza)
      • Side Entrance (45 ft away from West Plaza)
      • Loading Dock Area (85 ft away from West Plaza, 125 ft away from William Street Plaza)
      • Parking Garage Entrance (0 ft away from William Street Plaza)
      • Spruce Street School Entrance (0 ft away from William Street Plaza)
      • Commercial Space Entrance (0 ft away from William Street Plaza)

The emergency gathering points shall be publicized to all occupants in the event of a relevant emergency.
